8 Laundry Tips that is easy to adapt
Even if you’ve been doing laundry for years, the results aren’t always perfect. So what could possibly go wrong? Check these five pointers will help you get the best results every time you do laundry.
Choose a suitable water temperature.
Different fabrics go with varying temperatures of water. Coldwater is ideal for delicate fabrics, items that may shrink, and dark colors that bleed easily. Warm water is suitable for cleaning moderately soiled clothing and man-made fabrics. Bedding and towels, cotton whites, and heavily stained work clothes, particularly those with oil or grease stains, should be washed in hot water.
Select the best detergent in the market
The price does not reveal much about the detergent’s quality. The more surfactants there are, the better the detergent. Surfactants are active ingredients that work to remove all soil from a piece of fabric and suspend it in water. The presence of enzymes in the detergent is also a big plus. This is because these enzymes work to remove stains from laundry.
Carefully check the laundry care symbols.
The laundry symbols on the care label explain the correct temperature and method of washing our clothes. As a result, the care label serves as a guideline for extending the life of our clothes. The washing instructions are determined by the fabric’s material or chemical components. Before washing clothes, check the laundry symbols and care instructions on the care label inside the garment. It saves time and protects our clothes from damage.
Sort out your colors
Sort your fabrics into whites, light colors and darks, and delicate. Because some dyes can ‘bleed’ during the wash, especially when washed at a higher temperature, white fabrics can unintentionally become dyed during a mixed color wash. Furthermore, darker colors may fade if washed in a bleach-containing detergent, and wools and silks can be damaged if passed on the wrong cycle or with the unsuitable detergent.
Correct dosage of detergent
The correct amount of detergent needed will be stated on the packaging and is related to how dirty the clothes are and the type of washing method you approach.
Hand- wash delicates
Silks, delicate woolens, and embellished party clothes can be damaged in the washing machine and may need to be hand-washed. Instead, use cold water – hot water may cause fabric damage – and a detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Allow garments to soak in detergent water for about 10 minutes before massaging them to clean and rinsing in cold water.
Never overload your machine.
Overloading your washing machine may result in your clothes not getting as clean because they won’t move around as much. However, there should be enough space if your palm fits between the clothes and the machine.
Keep your machine squeaky clean.
Remember to clean the inside of the drum window’s rubber lining with a damp cloth regularly. This helps to avoid black marks and residues on your clothes. Once a month, run an empty washing machine on a 90-degree wash cycle to keep the drum clean. Also use our WASO Washine Maching Descaler powder once in 2 months to remove scales in the washing machine tub.
